Midwest Computer
Genealogists |
|
Midwest Computer Genealogists is a regional organization for
genealogists which meets monthly to learn about new developments in genealogical
research and to share their own research with other genealogists in the area.
MCG meets at Foxwood Springs on the third
Saturday of each month from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. in Bromwell Lounge (except
September and December).

Parkinson’s
Support Group |
|
Foxwood Springs is host for the Raymore/Cass County Parkinson’s Support
Group, which meets the 4th Monday of the month 10 am, Bromwell Lounge. The group
is an extension
of the Parkinson
Foundation of the Heartland and the
National Parkinson Foundation (NPF). Speakers are available to discuss the
latest information concerning the disease. It is valuable for the members to
share their knowledge and experiences with each other - information that one
cannot always learn from a book or visit to the doctor’s office. |

Alzheimer’s Support
Group |
|
Foxwood Springs is also host for a monthly
Alzheimer’s Support Group. This group meets on the 3rd Monday of
every month at 3:00 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room. This group is
an extension of the Alzheimer’s Association.
It
is a support group for family members of Alzheimer’s patients. The
patient may be residing in our own unit or the family may be caring for
the patient in their own home. Members are kept up to date with
the latest information and offer valuable support to each other.
Occasionally guest speakers are scheduled to provide even more education
to the group. |

Foxwood Springs is also host for an on-site
Diabetes Support Group. This group meets the 3rd Monday of each
month at 3:00 in Apt. 112-C. This group is designed specifically
for the residents of Foxwood Springs who have been diagnosed with
Diabetes, as well as their caregivers. Members share valuable
information and support with each other. Occasionally, guest
speakers and films provide more in-depth information. |

National Active
and Retired Federal Employees |
The
National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Chapter 1012 meets
bi-monthly.
Meetings are held in Holmes Hall and include a business meeting,
luncheon and a program. They keep members aware of legislative
issues that affect government retirees and employees.
Membership is open to civilians in any agency of
the federal or D.C. governments including
