The Resident Volunteer Program
at Foxwood Springs is a vital part of this community’s daily life.
There are no age limits for volunteers
- in fact, age is no barrier to the desire to “get up and do.” We are
convinced that active service to others increases one’s own longevity. There are
hundreds of resident volunteers at Foxwood Springs, who volunteer
thousands of hours of service every year.
Each year volunteers
organize and carry out the annual Fall Festival of Bargains,
which draws crowds from all over the Kansas City area. It is Cass
County’s largest rummage sale. The Fall Festival of
Bargains helps to provide support for the Fellowship of John
program that makes available financial assistance for residents who have
outlived their resources and need help in covering the full cost of

Volunteers use their skills and knowledge for every activity
imaginable. There is a wide range of physical activities on a daily
basis as well as social, educational and spiritual life activities.
These are carried out throughout the year. Two examples of

Foxwood Springs is an active retirement center where the
residents provide the best possible way to age gracefully through their
own vigorous volunteer program.
